Biography
ENG: Founded on an idea by Marco Campitelli and born in 1998, THE MARIGOLD have gone through different line-up changes, a metamorphosis which brings them to the band as it is composed today:
MARCO CAMPITELLI: guitars, vocals, 6-string bass , keyboards, noises;
STEFANO MICOLUCCI: basses
GIOVANNI LANCI: drums & percussion.
Many live performances, plus two 2 demos and 1 promo record, have earned them the appreciation of various fans and the accolades of a variety of music magazines.-In 2002 the band took part in the Sana Records compilation “Rock & Contaminazioni vol. 1″ (with Sux!, One Dimensional Man), and in 2004 they made their debut on Black Desert Rec (obscure branch of 8 Records) with the E.P. ‘DIVISIONAL’-.
In 2007 the band releases ‘EROTOMANIA’ (produced by Amaury Cambuzat -Ulan Bator- Faust), out for I dischi del Minollo/DeAmbula Records/Debruit et Desilence rec with the collaboration of Umberto Palazzo (Santo Niente). Between 2007/08 the band plays in Austria, Slovenjia & France(@ Festival Fugues with Robin Guthrie, Port royal). –In the same year the song “eleven years” takes part to the fugues Compilation “unreleased track 2008″ (with other artists like Balmorhea, Port Royal, ThisQuietArmy).
Between August & November the band records a new album titled ‘TAJGA’. During the winter the capable hands of Amaury Cambuzat plays & mixes the songs while Daniele Carretti (Offlaga disco pax) plays piano on tajga. At the end of works the english label Acid Cobra Records decides to publish the album in September 2009 with the co-production of the labels DeAmbula Rec. & I dischi del Minollo/Venus Distr(italian distribution).

ITA: Fondati e nati da un progetto di Marco Campitelli nel 1998, i MARIGOLD subiscono diversi cambi di line-up, una metamorfosi che li porta fino alla formazione attuale:
Marco Campitelli: voce, chitarre, tastiere, 6 string bass, noises, samples
Stefano Micolucci: basso.
Giovanni Lanci: batteria e percussioni.
-La fiorente attività live e i primi demo li portano ad essere apprezzati da un pubblico variegato e da diverse riviste musicali. Nel 2002 partecipano alla compilation per la Sana Records “Rock e contaminazioni vol.1″ (con SUX!, One Dimensional Man, Estra e molti altri), mentre nel 2004 avviene l’esordio su Black Desert Records (branca ‘oscura’ della 8 Records) con l’album ‘DIVISIONAL’ (seguiranno nel 2004/05 circa 50 live dopo l’uscita dell’e.p.).
-Nel 2007 viene realizzato ‘EROTOMANIA’ (prodotto da Amaury Cambuzat -ULAN BATOR, FAUST-) uscito per I DISCHI DEL MINOLLO/DEAMBULA RECORDS. Fra il 2007/08 la band suona in Italia, Slovenia, Austria e Francia(@ Festival Fugues con Robin Guthrie ex cocteau twins, port royal…). Nel 2008 l’album ‘erotomania’ viene distribuito e pubblicizzato in Francia dalla DebruitEtDeSilence records.
-Il 2009 vede l’uscita di ‘TAJGA’ terzo disco della band prodotto nuovamente dall’ormai fidato Amaury Cambuzat e con la partecipazione di Daniele Carretti(Magpie, OfflagaDiscoPax) prodotto da ACID COBRA REC. e la co-produzione di Deambula Records e I dischi del MinolloRec/ Venus distr.
